About the Train Walk
The National Autistic Society Train Walk Campaign, now in it's third year, was started as a direct way for anyone and everyone with a passion about autism support to make a difference. As part of the Community Fundraising Department at NAS, Train Walk promotes activism on the local level, and gets children and adults alike up and excited about raising awareness, helping an important cause, getting some fresh air, and spending valuable time with friends and family.
Over the last two years, Train Walk has raised a whopping £100,000 and seen thousands walking all over the the UK in aid of NAS.
Anyone can join or plan these Thomas & FriendsTM themed sponsored walks, from friends and families to nurseries and schools, from cubs and brownies to NAS branches. You can walk a short or long distance, it's all up to you. Whether you choose to organise your own event or get involved in one taking place near you, you'll be helping us to make a real difference to the lives of people with autism across the UK. The majority of events took place during Train Walk Weekend, 3 - 6 June 2011, but a Train Walk can happen at any time. We are also gearing up for Train Walk 2012, with pre-registration now available.
