Train Walk 2012 - Jump on board!

Welcome to The National Autistic Society's Train Walk website!

Children, parents, grandparents…everyone loves Thomas & FriendsTM! Now you can follow in the tracks of everyone’s favourite blue engine with a fantastic Thomas & Friends themed walk, while supporting people affected by autism.

The Fat Controller needs you! We are looking for Train Walk organisers - people to put on a Train Walk in your local area for your family and friends or even your school, neighbours or community. You don't need any experience and you can tailor a Train Walk to your own family or community - it can be big or small - it's up to you!

And of course, for every £1 raised through a Train Walk, 97p will be spent directly on supporting people with autism and their families. There's so much to see and learn about Train Walk, explore the tabs for lots more information about this brilliant event.

Support through your Train Walk

With your support we have raised thousands of pounds to help people with autism across the UK live the lives they choose. Over 500,000 people in the UK have autism. Together with their families and carers, this means there are over two million people whose lives are touched by autism every single day. Despite this, autism is still widely misunderstood-which means that many of these two million people miss out the level of help, support and understanding they need. Together we aim to change this, with the money you raise from your Train Walk for The National Autistic Society.

So why wait? Train Walks are a great time - and perfect for raising awareness and money money money.

We'll be here to support you every step of the way with helpful information and tips - let the fun begin!

If you need some inspiration, check out previous years' Train Walks. You can also become a member of our Train Walking community by joining our Train Walk Facebook page, to hear about what other Train Walk organisers have planned and to share ideas!
